Brown Alive Redemption

The title of this post comes from this 14 year-old video that Will and me watched together early on in our relationship. Although I hadn’t played a RDR game, I still called it Brown Alive Redemption in my head. More on that later. First, gaming rambling.

The Sims 4

I’m still on my current Sims 4 kick, and I did manage to find a mod to make Naboo bigger. Still not quite as big as he is in real life, but definitely better than before. It causes some interesting bugs. I also had to find a new mod for controlling the pets, because the previous one apparently isn’t updated anymore and was causing the problems with loading in.
I successfully managed to move some rooms over a bit and shrink the house a bit more, I still feel like it’s nonsensically giant in the middle though. There’s a reason I like floorplans as a hobby but did not go into architecture in any professional manner lol.
This is where I last talked about this save of The Sims. I swear it used to have previous/next post links at the bottom of posts but now it doesn’t, and I’m not sure how to fix it.

Phasmophobia

Phasmo had the long awaited character update and, oh boy. I’m not furious about it like a lot of the internet is by any means, but it is very funny. Honestly, while I don’t need to see my own character doing stuff in front of my own face so much, I do appreciate being able to choose clothes. Game cosmetics are my weakness and we know this.
I also noticed something interesting on Bleasdale recently; I always assumed Phasmo was “set in,” for lack of a better term, New Mexico, because there used to be a map poster for it in the equipment van. This is back in 2020, mind you. And I assume the poster is a Unity asset, which is why they don’t want to continue using it. Phasmo missions used to appear in randomised locations all over a US map, implying the ghost-hunting gang travelled around, so the game wasn’t “set” anywhere per se, but I assumed the New Mexico poster was meant to be significant in lore.
Despite all this, the developers are from the United Kingdom, and a lot of the plug sockets on maps were European (but not UK) outlets. I don’t know if the developers had some connection to or interest in New Mexico or if it was just an asset they had.

But anyway, on Bleasdale I noticed I could make out an address on the letters on the doormat, Hamilton, ON. I believe the ON is Ontario, meaning the farmhouse is now in Canada. So it seems we do quite a bit of travelling whenever we need to do a mission there. I just thought that was interesting.

I had fun.
Phasmo Letti is reborn.

I don’t really know anything about Alan Wake (although I know Vily likes it), but there is an Alan Wake event in Phasmo at the moment. I will hopefully work on that video when my brain feels less heatwave-melted.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

I finally got 100% on the world map in SOTTR. And I had to uninstall it to make room for other stuff. I enjoyed it. Although summer is approaching, I am not quite in my usual mood for retro Tomb Raider yet. I will probably need to restart the pickups run I was doing of AoD because it’s been far too long. Did I also have a save of 3 on the go for something? Idk man. I always think “I’ll pick this right back up and remember exactly what I was doing.” I do not.

Fallout 76

I finally caught every monthly axolotl in FO76. A new season is starting very soon, so it’s about to take up a lot of my free time again, HOWEVER:

Red Dead Online/ Red Dead Redemption 2

Vily has just got me into Red Dead Online. Thus far I am not good at it, I don’t know why moving a character around in this game has to be so hard! Although I love a good bit of Southwestern Gothic (and am quite interested in the Southwest USA in general, but also the Midwest and the Northwest lol), I’m not particularly fond of periods of time that lack indoor plumbing, hygiene, and basic law and order. The past sucks and I am very aware of it. So I’ve spent my time thus far thinking, everyone smells, where am I pooing, where am I getting water for this horse, oh God handwash doesn’t exist yet. But I can see myself getting very into it because, horse.
I am a recovering horse girl, and by recovering I mean, I literally cannot afford to go horse riding anymore, although I’d very much like to do it again, even though it probably wouldn’t be a regular part of my life because I just don’t have time. So it’s just nice to run around on a horse in a game. It definitely handles a lot better than Ranch Sim’s horse riding does, but I’m bummed I can’t just ride my horse chaotically into a building instead of having to dismount lol.

There are certainly some nice views in this game when you’re riding around, and I imagine my graphics card isn’t doing them justice.

Dino Crisis 3

I was recently doing the Steam releases of the original Resident Evil games, and then did Dino Crisis 1 and 2. Unfortunately, the screenshotting function didn’t work for any of them, so I won’t be able to get stills until I finally go through and edit videos. But, the Xbox emulator does let me take screenshots of 3! So here we are.
I had fond memories of 3, but since I’ve been playing it again I’ve been like, wow, what a pain in the ass. The flying around is great, but the handling and camera are so ass. Idk why I’m nostalgic about old camera angles because my God, this game shows how bad they can be. Just literally pointing at the exact opposite of whatever I need to see, hiding entire unseen doorways. And the running back and forth and the stupid ship formation system. But I’m hoping I’ll find what it was that made me like it back in the day.

He loves the sun and apparently doesn’t realise how hot it is.
Flowerbed.
New exciting Bepis flavour.
