I’m not very good at blogging
It must have been nearly a month since I did this, perhaps because I’ve spent more time either doing house things or fruitlessly trying to gain energy via napping. This past week I had a triple-whammy of pain in the form of a 10/10 migraine complete with vomiting and diarrhoea, a period, and an alarmingly painful cyst caused by an ingrown hair after shaving. It’s just full of the normal oil in a hair follicle but DANG.
I’m sure you don’t need anymore detail than that, but wanting to share my pain, as well as having a sizeable backlog of photos, has finally prompted me to get onto my blog.

Will’s mum gave us an old Ikea Expedit unit because she recently moved house, and we have slowly organised it into something moderately presentable.

I tried some more genealogy. I hit a lot of the same brick walls, either because there are simply no traces of someone’s parents, or because records are behind a paywall for being foreign. Perhaps the strangest thing was getting a little further along a streak, and finding out it’s Scottish! Didn’t really expect that. We Bretons often feel that Scotland stole bagpipes from us! Unfortunately there’s another brick wall there, so there’s no way to find out if they got to Scotland from somewhere else (obviously they did since the beginning of human history, but I mean more in terms of the recent past, might they have migrated from elsewhere, so on and so forth). Brick walls everywhere.
But, even with that, I exported this fun chart and annotated it with flags! Including the flag of Letti!

Rather than going to bed at a sane time, I recently decided to try creating a flag to represent Mizrahi (pan-Asian) Jews as a whole. This is what I came up with. I can’t take credit for that lovely Hamsa, I found it unattributed on Pinterest, but if this flag ever became a thing, it’s the sort of pattern I’d have in there.

We’re having our main annual barbecue again soon, which is very unsubtly actually for my dog’s birthday. I can’t believe she’s nearly 9! I just wanna chill out and have a good time, celebrate dogs but also not panic about how old my dog is.
Kadek is coming up the day before, so I may have some mishaps to report about hanging up garden lights.
We might soon have a new addition to the family, I’ll see how it goes.
