Resident Evil 9, Easter Phasmo, and more spring gaming
Yes, I shall insert some images of sweet Naboo. But first, game stuff.
Resident Evil Requiem (RE9)
Some of these images might be spoilers for RE9 if you haven’t played/seen it. Well, new Resident Evil came out and I really liked it! Grace is such a good character even though she is young bb, she got her shit together. And I definitely see the appeal of 49 year-old Leon, whereas young Leon did nothing for me lol. The nostalgia of going back to Raccoon City was a hell of a thing.
So far, I’ve done a few of the challenges, namely the final puzzle and finishing without using the blood collector, so I’ve unlocked infinite ammo. I’m not sure how I could make it through without ever using a herb, even on Casual difficulty you get slapped so much. And Insanity Mode definitely seems out of reach. But also, I thought that about REmake 4, and I managed to do S+ Hardcore with about 100 hours in the game. I was going to try and do the same with Separate Ways, but I lost the energy for it lol.
But it took a lot of rehearsing and learning the game triggers, which enemies are grabbers vs which ones won’t grab, and so on. I haven’t had the time to do that for RE9 yet. Speedrun will require a similar amount of research. But yeah, great game! Long live Resident Evil.
My graphics card is probably not doing justice to the game in the images below. Apparently my CPU needs upgrading to run it properly also, lol.

Fallout 76
I just finished the Fallout season! I need to get a few more tickets to make sure I unlock all the things I want, but I’m past level 100. I need to make sure I now have enough of a break before the next one, although there will apparently be a mini-season event of some sort soon.
Since my last post on this, I have mutated myself with a Marsupial serum! I mainly did this for the silly jump height so I wouldn’t have to equip my jetpack so often. However, it does make you lose 3 points of intelligence, so I had to counteract that with a legendary perk upgrade.
I’m not having much luck with my camp collectrons; Cobby was bugged and kept resetting himself to bringing me corn instead of Nuka Cola, which is useless to me. I fancy something different every now and then, so it’s nice to change the appearance of the collectron and hear the different phrases. But alas, he was bugged and obviously not going to be fixed any time soon. I had Peppino for a while, a sort of alarming Fastnacht clown. He started driving me slightly insane, so I switched to the Evidence collectron, which was fun for a few days until he, too, started reverting to his default settings and bringing me pencils.
So, I’ve gone back to my original Nuka Quantron, because if he resets himself, he’ll still be bringing me soda. I can program him to go for the other Nuka category sometimes, but if he does reset himself, it’s fine. I guess the appearance of the collectron being fundamentally connected to the function it performs, unless you change it, is causing the problems. I just wish I could change the look and phrases sometimes, ya feel. But I also wish we had more customisable weather machine settings so maybe I’m insane, lol.

Phasmophobia
The new version of Tanglewood – my favourite map – and the Cursed Hollow event have allowed me to get back into Phasmo, one of my favourite games. I had owed Thomasina a game for a really long time lol. There was a bit of a furore about the new Tanglewood, but it’s really not so bad. It looks more homely, it could just have a bit more colour. I just love a good one-storey house.
Because of a bug on Maple Lodge we managed to get outside the map. We went too far and fell down into nothingness.
The main appeal of this year’s Cursed Hollow for me, is, unlocking cosmetics for the future character redesign. I just love videogame cosmetics, they are my weakness. You’ve seen my Fallout outfits. I am nervous about the redesign though, I’ve probably said before I’m quite attached to my character model, she is a better me.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider
I’m still slowly 100%ing the different areas, I don’t think I’m far off.

The original Resident Evil games are finally on Steam! The RE1 is a strange amalgamation; it has the uncensored cutscenes of the Japanese version, it doesn’t have ink ribbons for saving, items aren’t where I had muscle memory for them being. I think I played Director’s Cut a lot more than the main game. But oh boy I was confused for a lot of that. It will take a while for me to get a video out (and one of RE9 lol) because I’m still working on RE6 and need to do Jake & Sherry’s campaign. I also need to go through and timestamp my original video so it’s much easier to watch.
I’m now playing the Steam version of RE2, I’m hoping I can successfully do Claire A and Leon B if it recognises the saves, this didn’t work last time lol. It’s also a bummer that Steam won’t take screenshots when I’m running these.
Dino Crisis 1 & 2 are on Steam too! I’m excited for those, but I played them much less than Resident Evil so I’m worried I won’t remember what to do at all. I don’t know if we’ll ever get 3 on Steam, that was strange and set in space.
As of today I have finally given up on Dune: Awakening. I think I held-out for quite a while though! I went on this morning expecting to spend 10 minutes of my day picking up fuel cells and powering the base for another 20 days, only to find out that my base was already out of power, and two ornithopters had been destroyed by the storms. I went round and collected the amount of fuel cells that would normally give 20 days of power, but now they only give 9, so they’ve obviously updated something. Even though I managed to restore my ornithopters with a tool, I realised I was fed-up with being forced to log into this game in order to keep what I spent 200 hours of my life making. So I deconstructed everything and stored my base. Which sucks. But I can at least uninstall the game for however long I’m not into it and get that space back on my computer lol. It’s weird how much of a weight off my shoulders it is. I just don’t have time in my life for it right now.

In misc news, a weird thing happening to me is that my hair roots are now growing brown. I assume this is due to hormone issues, as many other things with me are. Obviously, I’m a redhead so this is looking a bit strange. But I was always jealous of people with brown hair and eyes, so I don’t really mind. For voice work it doesn’t really matter, although if I’m going up for a commercial or something it might be a pain explaining why I have brown stripes in my hair lol, assuming it fluctuates a bit.
On that front, it’s time to paint my office! The rest of the stuff in there isn’t going to get off the floor until I put the furniture in, so we just need to paint so I can do that. It’s annoying that the colour I want seems to be more expensive than others (possibly because it needs mixing and isn’t a default one?), and it also seems like it can’t be delivered unless you get an obscure sheen of it, I don’t know. But yeah, progress.
