It has certainly been an interesting year. Career, surgery, surprise rescue dog! And the dog himself had many additional surprises. I’m pretty sure this is his first Christmas indoors with a Christmas tree. I was expecting to report that he had knocked the tree over, but actually, he has thus far only stood up against it on two legs a couple of times. And he loves stealing the decorations.
One of the surprises Naboo brought with him was cancer. Although we were miraculously quoted only £1k for the chemotherapy after expecting £7k, it has so far been £3k. We are in a bit of a hole. But, Naboo is still here, lively and annoying as ever, and we can’t really put a price on that. His follow-up appointment hasn’t been booked yet, but fingers-crossed there’s no lump regrowth. If he needs chemo again, we unfortunately won’t be able to afford it.
We are having a small Christmas as a household, and are not able to get any gifts for family and friends. This is not the biggest deal in the world, especially when our dog is alive in return. I just find it a bit stressful because I am definitely a “pebbler” as a love language, usually in the form of sharing lots of little strange game and internet things in messages. But at special occasions, it’s nice to get people little gifts to demonstrate that I love and think of them. (Bonus points if people have Amazon wishlists that they share at this time of year, because I know that I am getting them something they want and not some random crap.) So I feel guilty that I can’t get anything for anyone this year. But again, this is something worth living with so Naboo can still be here!
Ears almost horizontal.
Eternal vibes.
I wish that Freya were still here to wear the jacket, but I am also glad that Naboo can make use of it.
The grind continues.
A nice tree.
Long bone.
Deffo had something like that, minus the Dear and the Lover.
Why is the comma like that.
Glorious history and cultural.
Watching Good Boy for my birthday, and Naboo definitely recognising the dog.
Naboo in front of the tree.
Transfixed by the Nosferatu poster.
He likes it up there.
Introducing Will to Twin Peaks, which I should probably add to my essential TV list, even though it’s bizarre and responsible for Deadly Premonition lol.
Another nice tree we saw.
Now he’s an art critic.
The sofa covers were in the wash and he made sure to get on there.
He realised he can see another window from there.

Yearly summaries
Controller 4 lyfe.
I’m so sure I have never played a VR game because I do be getting that simulator-sickness. Are some first-person games just classed as VR?
Sorry I slacked on the Deathrock this year. Unless they just bundled it in with “Rock”?
This is last year’s Letterboxd summary thing because I only just discovered that it existed, and they haven’t given me 2025’s yet.
I am literally so cold.
Maize
I’ve been catching up on some games I never got around to playing, and Maize is a really weird (but funny) one.
“Slightly disgusting.”
Phasmophobia
The new diner map is so fun, I keep getting distracted by the breakable eggs, the cream going everywhere, and the soda cans.
House of Ashes
House of Ashes was absolutely brutal but I think I only killed one optional person lol.
Beautiful Lamassu.
Beautiful Ishtar. This is based on the Burney relief, and I also got a little statue based on it for my birthday!
ALMOST everybody was fine, OK?
Sinister Halloween
Sinister Halloween was a surprisingly decent game, if a little buggy in places. And it is indeed from the same devs who did Holy Purge!
Paleo Pines
Paleo Pines is one I got for my birthday, It’s the sort of thing that could take over my life very easily, if I had the free time to take lmao.
Local youths hurling obscenities.
The Cabin Factory
The Cabin Factory is uh, yes.
Kyoto Anomaly
Hmm.
I broke Kyoto Anomaly a little bit because I simply must get to the forbidden places.
Twisted Gallery
Twisted Gallery was very confusing but also genuinely freaked me out a couple of times lol.
Butt.
Dune: Awakening
Whoops.
I finally got to borrow the guild carrier and managed to get so much Jasmium with my buggy.
Fallout 76
Another season has begun, and this one adds the new location of Burning Springs, across the border in Ohio. It kind of sucks there! Many Deathclaw. I’ve seen people say this is the closest the game has ever felt to Fallout 3 and NV, and I agree. But I prefer it when things aren’t completely desolate lol.
Hmm.
Sheepsquatch vs Sheepsquatch.
I finally unlocked Honeycomb Ghost Lantern A!!
What are you doing, Freya.
Felt like designing another camp, and Beckett found his way onto the roof.
I enjoy this blue cow statue.
Superb pumpkin weather station.
The new Burning Springs area looks nice at night.
I enjoy Cobby, except for that one time he got mad and started shooting me.
These tap into my sea mine fear, but are apparently generators held up there by the wind. Shouldn’t they be on poles instead of just wires in case it’s not windy enough? Idk.
Hey, it’s that guy from the TV series! But 200 years before he did any of the TV series stuff!
A Hanbok for hunting cryptids.
SHE HUNGERS.
Weird twins.
What a feeling, there’s a turret on the ceiling.
Reminiscent of Fallout 4’s drive-in. Must be so nice to go to a drive-in and watch old monster movies.
This clown jumpscares me EVERY time.
Main camp decorated for the holidays.
Just having a sit down.
The Rust Raiders were keeping a Wendigo in a garage.
I got the weather station to give my camp the night aurora from Burning Springs. The only downside is, it makes everything look really green and washed-out during the day. I’d set the Fall one for daytime if I could.
This is very unhelpful.
Beckett repeatedly dying on the spot for no reason, also leaving his disembodied foot on the couch apparently.
I accidentally went under the map.
My house goes quite far into the ground apparently.
Ye olde New Vegas dinosaur.
The lizard finally arrived in the shop! I can’t have it neatly against the wall, otherwise it glitches onto the roof for some reason.
